One reality to plan for early: as a Singapore passport holder you need a Tibet Travel Permit (入藏函), and foreign travellers may only enter Tibet on an organised group tour; a China visa is generally not needed, since ordinary Singapore passport holders enjoy 30-day mutual visa-free entry (other passports should check their own rules). Lhasa is the spiritual heart of every CET Tibet journey, and both trips give it dedicated time. Travellers explore the iconic Potala Palace, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and the symbol of Tibet, then the revered Jokhang Temple, before strolling along Barkhor Street where pilgrims and traders gather. At roughly 3,650m, Lhasa is where the group rests and acclimatises gently on arrival before venturing higher.

Nyingchi 林芝 & the Gala Peach Blossom Village 嘎啦桃花村 (Trip A) / 林芝与嘎啦桃花村（行程A）
Nyingchi, the “Jiangnan of Tibet”, opens both journeys, and both begin here at the peaceful Lamaling Temple, a Nyingma monastery tucked among forest and mountains. The 9-Day peach-blossom trip (Trip A) then adds its signature stop: the famous Gala Peach Blossom Village, where pink highland peach blossoms bloom against snow-capped mountains and traditional Tibetan villages, followed by a crossing of Sejila Mountain to Lulang Forest with distant views of Mount Namjagbarwa. The bloom runs roughly mid-March to mid-April and is weather-dependent, so it cannot be guaranteed.

Basong Tso 巴松错 (both trips) / 巴松错（两团皆游）
On the way from Nyingchi to Lhasa, both trips take in the sacred alpine lake Basong Tso, a holy site of the Nyingma (red-hat) school of Tibetan Buddhism, ringed by snow peaks, forest and clear water.

Yamdrok Lake 羊卓雍错 & Karola Glacier 卡若拉冰川 (both trips) / 羊卓雍错与卡若拉冰川（两团皆游）
Both trips travel across the Tibetan plateau to the turquoise waters of Yamdrok Lake, one of Tibet’s three sacred lakes, then continue past the magnificent Karola Glacier on the way to Gyantse. Yamdrok sits at roughly 4,400m, so the gentle, well-paced route helps travellers take in the colour and scale without rushing.

Namtso 纳木错 (Trip B) / 纳木错（行程B）
On the 11-Day plateau trip (Trip B), a full-day excursion reaches Namtso, one of Tibet’s most sacred lakes and among the highest in the world. Surrounded by vast grasslands, snow-capped mountains and endless blue sky, Namtso offers some of the most spectacular scenery on the plateau. At roughly 4,700m it is the highest point of the journey, so the day is kept gentle with plenty of time to rest.
11天青藏高原深入游（行程B）全天专程前往【纳木错】，这是西藏最神圣的圣湖之一，也是世界海拔最高的湖泊之一。蓝天、白云、雪山与圣湖交织，尽显世界屋脊的辽阔与壮丽。纳木错海拔约 4,700 米，是全程最高点，当日特别放缓节奏，让旅客充分休息与适应。
Gyantse 江孜 & Shigatse 日喀则 (both trips) / 江孜与日喀则（两团皆游）
Both trips continue into the historic towns of Gyantse and Shigatse. In Gyantse travellers visit Palcho (Pelkhor) Monastery and the famous Kumbum Stupa, renowned for its thousands of Buddhist images and intricate murals. In Shigatse, Tibet’s second-largest city, the group explores the great Tashilhunpo Monastery, the traditional seat of the Panchen Lama, home to the world’s tallest bronze Maitreya Buddha, before returning to Lhasa along the scenic Yarlung Tsangpo Valley.

The Qinghai-Tibet plateau railway 青藏铁路 & Qinghai Lake 青海湖 (Trip B) / 青藏铁路与青海湖（行程B）
The 11-Day plateau trip (Trip B) closes with its signature stretch. Travellers board the famous Qinghai-Tibet Railway in a soft-sleeper cabin from Lhasa to Xining, one of the world’s highest rail journeys, crossing snow mountains, grasslands and remote wilderness over the legendary Tanggula Pass, with a chance to spot Tibetan antelope and wild yak. From Xining the trip continues to Qinghai Lake, China’s largest inland saltwater lake, where grasslands and vast blue water stretch to the horizon.

Best time to visit Tibet / 西藏几月最好
The most comfortable months to visit Tibet run roughly from April to October, when the skies are clear and the plateau is at its most welcoming. If the Nyingchi peach blossom is your reason to go, aim for roughly mid-March to mid-April, the window Trip A is built around. Because the exact bloom depends on the weather each year, it cannot be guaranteed.
Across the wider season, May-June and September-October stand out as especially pleasant. Deep winter is cold and some high routes and lakes can be affected, though Lhasa itself remains visitable. Here is a quick guide to what each window suits best.
- Mid-March to mid-April — best for the Nyingchi peach blossom (林芝桃花). This is the 林芝桃花节 window and the reason Trip A is timed for spring. Bloom timing is weather-dependent, so treat it as a hope rather than a promise.
- April to October — best for clear skies and comfortable all-round travel. The general open season for a Tibet journey, with settled weather across Lhasa and the high plateau.
- May-June and September-October — best for the most pleasant conditions. The two sweet spots within the season, ideal for the mildest weather and the clearest views.
- Deep winter — best for Lhasa on a quieter trip. The city itself stays visitable, though it is cold and some high routes and lakes may be affected.

游览西藏最舒适的月份大致在四月至十月之间，此时天空晴朗，高原风光最为宜人。若为林芝桃花而来，建议锁定大约三月中至四月中，也就是 Trip A（行程A）专为春季安排的时段。由于每年花期确切时间取决于天气，故无法保证。

Practical FAQ / 常见问题
Do Singapore passport holders need a Tibet permit and a China visa?
You need the Tibet Travel Permit, though a China visa is generally not needed for Singapore passport holders. Foreign passport holders, including Singaporeans, may only visit Tibet on an organised group tour with a Tibet Travel Permit (入藏函), which is not issued to independent travellers. Since 9 February 2024, ordinary Singapore passport holders enjoy 30-day mutual visa-free entry to mainland China, so no China visa is needed for our tours; travellers on other passports should check their own nationality’s rules. China Express Travel arranges the Tibet Travel Permit for the group and, as Singapore’s dedicated China travel specialist, has handled China visas for more than 30 years to guide travellers through every step.
Will I get altitude sickness?
Tibet sits on a high plateau, so mild altitude effects are possible. Lhasa is at about 3,650m, Yamdrok Lake at about 4,400m and Namtso at about 4,700m. The itinerary is paced to acclimatise gently: rest on the arrival day, keep movements slow and stay well hydrated. Travellers with a heart or respiratory condition, or who are pregnant, should consult a doctor before travelling.
What is the best month to visit?
For the Nyingchi peach blossom, aim for roughly mid-March to mid-April, when the pink blooms open against snow-capped mountains; the exact bloom is weather-dependent and cannot be guaranteed. More generally, April to October is the comfortable window with clear skies, and May-June and September-October are especially pleasant.
How many days should I plan for?
It depends on how deep the journey should go. The 9-day Nyingchi Peach Blossom and Lhasa tour covers the spring highlight plus the Lhasa core, and already takes in Basong Tso and Yamdrok Lake. The 11-day In-Depth Tour of the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau goes further, adding Namtso, the Qinghai-Tibet railway across the plateau, and Qinghai Lake.
Is there a lot of high-altitude travel?
Yes. Much of Tibet lies on the high plateau, so time at altitude is unavoidable. The itinerary is deliberately paced to help travellers acclimatise, with the first days kept gentle and rest built in on the arrival day.
Is there any shopping on the tour?
No. Both Tibet tours are no-shopping (纯玩) itineraries, so the days are spent on sightseeing rather than shopping stops.
What is the Qinghai-Tibet railway experience?
On the 11-day tour, after Lhasa travellers board the Qinghai-Tibet railway (青藏铁路) in a soft-sleeper cabin and cross the plateau to Xining, passing snow mountains, grasslands and open wilderness. The journey continues to Qinghai Lake before flying back via Chengdu.
What is included in the fare?
Both tours include international round-trip air tickets, an air-conditioned coach, twin-share hotel rooms, the meals and attraction tickets listed in the itinerary, an excellent Chinese-speaking guide, and the Tibet entry permit with its approval documents. Excluded are the China visa fee, single-room supplement, personal expenses, and airport tax plus driver and guide tips, which are added per traveller at booking.

持新加坡护照需要办入藏函和中国签证吗？
