Xiamen, Quanzhou & the Fujian Tulou / 厦门、泉州与福建土楼
Fujian is China’s Minnan (闽南) heartland on the southeast coast, where three UNESCO World Heritage stories sit close together: car-free Gulangyu Island off Xiamen, the ancient Maritime Silk Road port of Quanzhou, and the Hakka earthen roundhouses known as the Fujian Tulou. Add the oolong-tea hills of Anxi, the hot springs of Yongtai, and one of China’s great regional food cultures, and you have a destination that rewards a slower, deeper visit.

Best time to visit Fujian / 最佳旅游季节
Spring and autumn are the best seasons to travel in Fujian. Autumn brings comfortable temperatures, clear coastal skies and the fresh Anxi Tieguanyin tea harvest, making it ideal for both island walking and tea-country touring. Spring is mild and green and equally pleasant. Summers are hot and humid with occasional typhoon-season rain, while winters stay relatively mild but cooler for the coast, when Yongtai’s hot springs are especially welcome.
春秋两季是游览福建的最佳时节。秋季气温舒适、海天澄澈，正逢安溪铁观音秋茶采收，无论漫步海岛还是走访茶乡都恰到好处；春季温和翠绿，同样宜人。夏季炎热潮湿，偶有台风季降雨；冬季相对温和但沿海略有凉意，此时泡一泡永泰的温泉尤为惬意。

Xiamen & Gulangyu Island (UNESCO) / 厦门与鼓浪屿（世界文化遗产）
Xiamen is a relaxed garden city on the coast, and its jewel is Gulangyu, a car-free island of colonial-era villas, gardens and sea views often called the “piano island” for its long musical heritage. Wander its lanes on foot, then stroll the shops and old streets of Zhongshan Road back on the main island.

Set against the hills beside Xiamen University, Nanputuo is one of the city’s most revered Buddhist temples, with graceful halls rising in tiers up the slope. It is a peaceful, atmospheric stop that pairs naturally with a day exploring Xiamen.

Quanzhou & the Maritime Silk Road (UNESCO) / 泉州与海上丝绸之路（世界文化遗产）
Quanzhou was one of the great starting points of the Maritime Silk Road, and its Song-Yuan port heritage earned the whole city UNESCO World Heritage status. Visit the venerable Kaiyuan Temple and trace the layers of a trading port that once connected China to the wider world.

Fujian Tulou & Hakka culture (UNESCO) / 福建土楼与客家文化（世界文化遗产）
The Fujian Tulou are the Hakka earthen roundhouses of the Yongding and Nanjing districts, massive communal fortresses of rammed earth that housed entire clans. Stepping inside one is the best way to understand Hakka (客家) culture, its resilience and its deep sense of family and community.

Anxi Tieguanyin tea country / 安溪铁观音茶乡
Anxi is the home of Tieguanyin oolong, one of China’s most celebrated teas. Rolling green tea terraces cover the hills, and a visit here brings together the scenery, the craft and the aroma of a living tea tradition.

Putian & Yongtai hot springs / 莆田与永泰温泉

Practical FAQ / 常见问题
Do Singaporeans need a China visa? / 新加坡人游中国需要签证吗？
No. Singapore ordinary-passport holders enjoy 30-day mutual visa-free entry to China (since 9 February 2024), which comfortably covers this 8-day tour, so no China visa is required. Travellers on other passports, for example a Singapore PR holding a foreign passport, should check the rules for their own nationality.
不需要。持新加坡普通护照者自2024年2月9日起享有中新互免签证的30天免签待遇，足以涵盖这趟8天的行程，因此无需办理中国签证。持其他国家护照的旅客（例如持外国护照的新加坡永久居民），请自行确认所属国籍的相关规定。
When is the best time to go? / 什么时候去最好？
Spring and autumn are ideal, with comfortable temperatures and clear coastal skies; autumn also coincides with the fresh Anxi tea harvest. Summers are hot and humid, while winters are milder and a fine time for Yongtai’s hot springs.
春秋两季最为理想，气温舒适、海天清朗，秋季更恰逢安溪新茶采收。夏季炎热潮湿，冬季相对温和，也是享受永泰温泉的好时节。
How physically demanding is it? How much walking? / 这趟行程体力要求高吗？需要走很多路吗？
This is a leisurely gourmet and sightseeing tour with a gentle pace. There is some walking on Gulangyu Island, around temples and inside the Tulou, but nothing strenuous, making it comfortable for travellers of a wide range of ages and fitness levels.
