Beijing sits on a flat plain at low altitude, so there are no altitude concerns, and Singapore passport holders enjoy 30-day visa-free entry to China. It is an easy, rewarding first taste of northern China, and a natural gateway to onward journeys to Xi’an, the Northeast, Inner Mongolia or the imperial resort town of Chengde.

Beijing has four distinct seasons. Autumn is widely considered the finest, but each season shows the city in a different light.

Autumn (September to October): the best season / 秋季（九月至十月）· 最佳时节
Crisp, clear skies, comfortable temperatures and golden leaves at the Summer Palace, Fragrant Hills and along the Great Wall make autumn the ideal time to visit. It is also the most popular season, so book early.
天高气爽、气温舒适，颐和园、香山与长城沿线层林尽染，秋季是游览北京的理想时节，也是最热门的季节，建议尽早预订。
Spring (April to May): mild and blossoming / 春季（四月至五月）· 温和花开
Spring is pleasant and green, with blossoms in the parks. Occasional windy or dusty days are possible in early spring, but temperatures are agreeable for walking the Great Wall and the palace courtyards.
春季温和翠绿，园林花开。初春偶有风沙天气，但气温宜人，适合漫步长城与宫苑庭院。
Summer and winter: what to expect / 夏季与冬季 · 行前须知
Summer (June to August) is hot, humid and the peak travel and school-holiday season, with afternoon showers; an early start beats the heat and the crowds. Winter (November to February) is cold and often below freezing, but the city is quieter, fares are lower, and the Great Wall under snow is unforgettable, so dress in warm layers.
夏季（六月至八月）炎热潮湿，正值旅游与学校假期高峰，午后多阵雨，早出发可避暑避人潮；冬季（十一月至二月）寒冷，常在零度以下，但游人较少、团费较低，雪中长城更是难忘，请注意保暖多穿。

Top Sights and Experiences in Beijing / 北京必游景点与体验
The Great Wall · Mutianyu and Badaling / 万里长城 · 慕田峪与八达岭
No visit to Beijing is complete without the Great Wall. Badaling is the most famous and fully restored section, well connected and popular with groups. Mutianyu is equally spectacular but generally less crowded, with a cable car and toboggan that make it comfortable for families and seniors. Our itineraries note which section each departure visits.
不登长城，非好汉。八达岭是最著名、修复最完整的一段，交通便利、团队热门；慕田峪同样壮观而相对清静，设有缆车与滑道，长者与家庭同样从容。我们的行程会注明每个团期所游览的长城段落。
The Forbidden City / 故宫（紫禁城）
The Forbidden City was the imperial palace of the Ming and Qing dynasties for nearly five centuries and is the world’s largest surviving palace complex. Walking its central axis, from the Meridian Gate through the great halls to the Imperial Garden, is the highlight of any Beijing tour. It is closed on Mondays (except public holidays), so itineraries are planned around this.

Tiananmen Square / 天安门广场
Facing the Forbidden City across Chang’an Avenue, Tiananmen Square is one of the world’s largest public squares, framed by the Monument to the People’s Heroes, the Great Hall of the People and the National Museum. Most tours pair the square with the Forbidden City in a single morning.

Temple of Heaven / 天坛
The Temple of Heaven is where Ming and Qing emperors prayed for good harvests. Its circular Hall of Prayer for Good Harvests, built entirely without nails, is one of China’s most graceful timber structures, set in a large park where locals practise tai chi and play music in the mornings.
天坛是明清皇帝祈求丰年之地。祈年殿为圆形木构，通体不用一钉，是中国最优美的木建筑之一；四周园林辽阔，清晨常见市民打太极、奏乐同乐。
Summer Palace / 颐和园
The Summer Palace is a vast imperial garden of lake and hill, laid out around Kunming Lake and Longevity Hill. Stroll the Long Corridor with its painted beams, see the Marble Boat, and enjoy the classical Chinese landscape that once served as the Qing court’s summer retreat.

Hutongs and Houhai / 胡同与后海
Beijing’s hutongs, narrow grey-brick alleys of courtyard homes, are the city’s living heritage. A rickshaw ride or gentle walk around the Houhai lakes reveals old Beijing life away from the monuments, with teahouses, small shops and lakeside cafes.
北京的胡同，青砖窄巷、四合院人家，是这座城市鲜活的记忆。乘三轮车或漫步后海一带，可在茶馆、小店与湖畔咖啡之间，寻见地标之外的老北京生活。
Ming Tombs and the Sacred Way / 明十三陵与神道
Often combined with a Great Wall day, the Ming Tombs are the resting place of thirteen Ming emperors. The tree-lined Sacred Way, guarded by stone animals and officials, is a serene walk through imperial history.
明十三陵常与长城安排在同一日，是明代十三位皇帝的陵寝。神道两旁石像生列立、绿树成荫，漫步其间，静览帝王历史。
Peking Duck and Beijing cuisine / 北京烤鸭与京味美食
A Peking duck dinner, crisp-skinned duck carved at the table and wrapped in thin pancakes with scallion and sweet bean sauce, is a Beijing essential. Our tours include a duck banquet, and the capital’s imperial-style and home-style dishes feature throughout the itinerary.

Do Singaporeans need a China visa? / 新加坡人需要中国签证吗？
If you hold an ordinary Singapore passport, no visa is needed. Since 9 February 2024, Singapore and China have a mutual 30-day visa-free arrangement covering tourism, so our 6 to 8-day Beijing tours require no visa. Travellers on other passports (for example, a Singapore PR holding a foreign passport) should check their own requirements.
持普通新加坡护照者无需签证。自2024年2月9日起，中新两国互免签证、可停留30天，涵盖旅游用途，因此我们6至8天的北京行程无需办理签证。持其他护照者（例如持外国护照的新加坡永久居民）请自行确认所需签证。
When is the best time to visit Beijing? / 北京什么时候去最好？
Autumn (September to October) is the most comfortable and scenic, with clear skies and golden foliage. Spring is mild and green, summer is hot and busy, and winter is cold but quiet, with lower fares and beautiful snow scenery on the Great Wall.
秋季（九月至十月）最为舒适宜人、风景最美，天空清朗、层林尽染。春季温和翠绿，夏季炎热而热闹，冬季寒冷但清静，团费较低，雪中长城尤为壮丽。
Which section of the Great Wall does the tour visit? / 行程游览哪一段长城？
Most Beijing departures visit Badaling or Mutianyu, both fully restored and spectacular. Mutianyu has a cable car and toboggan, making it easier for seniors and families. The exact section is listed in each itinerary; let us know if you have a preference.
大多数北京团期游览八达岭或慕田峪，两段均修复完整、气势磅礴。慕田峪设有缆车与滑道，长者与家庭更为轻松。具体段落以各行程注明为准；若有偏好请告知我们。
Are these tours suitable for seniors? / 适合长辈参加吗？
Yes. Beijing is low-altitude and the pace is comfortable. We choose Great Wall sections with cable-car access where possible, allow time at each site, and our Mandarin-speaking guides look after older travellers. Please tell us of any mobility or dietary needs when booking.
